Hospitality and Press Pass Policy

To request hospitality, please write us at hospitality at blacksun-festival.com. Please do not send us money without our first approving of the request.

The Blacksun Festival is pleased to offer industry hospitality and press passes. On this page you should be able to find out all relevant details for both. For hospitality passes we ask that you understand that we try to be fair to everyone but we have a limited venue capacity - this limits the number of passes we can offer and to whom we can offer them. If you have any questions about our policies, please write to us at hospitality at blacksun-festival.com.

In all cases of hospitality and press, we must have your request in no later than March 1, 2008. Once you have made a request for hospitality or press, you should receive a reply from us on your status within seven days.

If approved for a complimentary pass, you will receive a confirmation number. You must present this confirmation number and valid ID at the door to receive your pass. No confirmation number, no entry. No exceptions.

If approved for a discount, you will receive detailed payment instructions in the status reply e-mail you receive from us.

Because of the limited capacity of the venue, we can only offer a total of 75 hospitality passes. They will be issued on a first come first served basis.

People who have worked at or performed at previous Blacksun events.
Musical artists who performed for the Blacksun Festival at Toad's Place in 2007 are invited to attend this years festival and receive a complimentary ticket.

Artists (Musical, Performance, Fashion Show) who performed for the Blacksun Festival at Alchemy in 2007 are invited to attend this years festival and receive a 50% discount on the purchase of a festival ticket.

All DJ's who played at Blacksun Festival in 2007 are invited to attend this years festival and receive a 50% discount on the purchase of a festival ticket.

Anyone who worked as a volunteer at the Blacksun Festival in 2007 is invited to attend this year's festival and receive a 50% discount on the purchase of a festival ticket. This offer is subject to the approval of the festival staff member you worked with last year, so please provide their name when you make the request for this discount.


Scene Related Record Labels
Full time staff members of major scene-related record labels are welcome to attend this year's festival and receive a complementary pass. This offer does not include street team members of record labels.


Promoters, Staff, and DJ's of Gothic Industrial Promotions located in the US Northeast
Staff members of Gothic Industrial nights based in the northeastern United States who have previously permitted Blacksun Festival staff to flyer inside their venue or have given their consent to do so this year are welcome to receive a 50% discount on the purchase of a festival ticket. This offer extends to promoters, DJ's, door people, and core staff, but does not include members of the street team. The promotion must currently be active and occur at least once a month. DJ's requesting hospitality must be a main resident DJ for the promotion, and spin at 25% or more of the promotions iterations and a minimum of once a month. This hospitality type is offered to promotions based in the following States: DC, MD, DE, PA, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, & ME.


Musical Artists who have never performed at the Blacksun Festival
Musical artists who are interested in hospitality but have never performed at the Blacksun Festival should contact the festival staff. Decisions will be handled on an individual basis. A rule of thumb in this case is that hospitality will only be extended to major artists.


Press
Press are always welcome, but should register in advance. We will extend Press Passes to anyone who represents an established webzine, magazine, newspaper, TV show, radio show, or Podcast, and whose credentials can be verified. Please provide us with the contact information for your editor at the time of making a request for a press pass.
