Q: Is the lineup confirmed? I hear my favorite band rarely plays. How certain is all of this, or is it just smoke and mirrors?

A: All the announced bands are confirmed with signed contracts.

Q: I'm a DJ and I would like to see if I can spin, what do I need to do?

A: Please see the Submissions page.

Q: My band would like to play, whom should we contact?

A: Please see the Submissions page.

Q: I would like to participate in the fashion show, whom should I contact?

A: Please e-mail your inquiry to Fashion@Blacksun-festival.com.

Q: I am a merchant and would like to participate in your Market. What do I need to know and whom should I contact?

A: Please see our Vendor page here.

Q: How far are the various hotels from the festival venues?

A: All hotels listed on our accommodations page are within walking distance of all festival venues. For most of them the walking time is less than 5 minutes.

Q: How far is the train/bus station from the hotels?

A: All hotels listed on our accommodations page are within walking distance of the train/bus stations. However, if you are bringing a lot of luggage it may be too far to walk. A taxi should run @ $5, or you can take the city bus.

Q: Is this an all-ages event?

A: You can see the main stage bands at Toad's Place if you are under 18 years old, however you will not be able to enter Alchemy (which is 18+) for the events held there.

Q: I'm aged 18 - 20, how is that going to impact my festival experience?

A: You will be able to participate in all festival events, however due to Connecticut state law there will be parts of the venues that you will be unable to access. In Toads Place this means you will be unable to access a bar area, a lounge, and the Lilly's Pad. In Alchemy you will have full access to the venue, except for the areas immediately around the bars.

Q: Is smoking permitted in the venues?

A: Connecticut State law restricts smoking indoors at the festival venues. Toad's Place has a courtyard area for smokers over 21 (those younger will have to exit the venue). Alchemy has a patio that is accessible by all ages.

Q: What are the drink prices like at Toad's?

A: Wells/Domestics run @ $4.50.

Q: How can I get to New Haven from various airports / cities?

A: Please see our Transportation Page.

Q: How do I get around New Haven?

A: Once you have arrived in New Haven, you should be able to walk to all Festival Venues, Hotels, Clubs, and Restaurants. One of the major reasons why we chose New Haven in the first place was how easy it is to get around - no need for vehicles!

Q: I would like to help out, how can I do that?

A: Individuals can volunteer and businesses can sponsor us. We need volunteers to help us plan, promote, and work at the event. If you would like to be part of the team, please send an e-mail to volunteer@NOSPAM.Blacksun-Festival.com. businesses can help us out by sponsoring the event. Please contact Sponsor@NOSPAM.Blacksun-Festival.com for details.

Q: Why do you have the event in March 2008, when in the past it has been held during mid-summer?

A: By holding the event in March the travel expenses for attendees will be less. We are also trying to avoid having our event held at the same time that others are going on (such as Mera Luna and Pennsic like last year).
