Travel to New Haven

New Haven is very easy to get to from anywhere in the Northeast. By car or train it’s just a sort ride away. The best part about it is that once you get to New Haven you can walk from all the hotels to all the festival venues – no need for a car or taxi.

New Haven is serviced both by the Metro-North rail line (from Grand Central Station, NYC) and Amtrak (from Penn Station in NYC). It’s about one and a half hour ride for either.

By air, the closest major airport is Bradley International in Hartford, Ct. Also close by are JFK and LaGuardia in NYC. From any of these three airports you can take a shuttle service right into New Haven. Three shuttle service companies are Connecticut Limousine, Prime Time Shuttle Service, and Red Dot Airport Shuttle.

By car New Haven is located just off of I-95 and I-91. It’s an easy drive to New Haven from either New York (around 2 hours) or Boston (around 2 ½ hours). There is plenty of parking in New Haven. Your hotel should provide free parking, but if not there are many parking lots within easy walking distance of all festival venues. Street parking is easy to find and is free in the evenings. If you are traveling to New Haven from points south (NYC area) be advised that traffic is usually horrible on I-95 North from 4pm to 8pm on Fridays.
