Fortunately Das Ich has stepped up to take over the Friday night headlining spot. They will bring their brand of apocalyptic Goth and high energy to the stage to make an unforgettable performance. Some of you may remember that they were forced to cancel their show last year due to an automobile accident, and they are pleased and excited about having the opportunity to more than make up for it!

DJ Addambombb from Northampton MA’s Haven is not only a great DJ, he’s also a talented artist! He is putting together an art show for festival goers at one of New Haven’s coffeehouses. More details soon!

The Courtyard by Marriott is almost full. We sold out our original block of rooms and the second block is almost sold out as well. (June 28th) And One Cancelled, Das Ich Confirmed

We are sad to report that the band And One will not be playing this year's festival. I'm sure that you would all like to have a detailed explanation as to why, and you deserve that. Unfortunately I have few details to give because I have never received a good explanation.

The simple fact of the matter is that it comes down to problems obtaining a visa for the band to enter the United States. A foreign musical artist who seeks to perform for profit in the United States must obtain a special visa. Under normal circumstances this visa takes several months to obtain, although for a large fee it can be expedited so that it only takes a few weeks. To file for the visa several pieces of information are required.

Over the past few months the Blacksun Festival has requested this information from And One and their management. After some time we were informed that one crucial band member did not have a passport, so we would have to wait while they obtained one. By mid-June we still did not have the requested information. It became evident that we had to cancel And One's performance and search for a replacement if we were to have enough time to submit a visa application for the replacement headliner.

Das Ich very kindly agreed to step forward and take over. We are very excited to bring them to our stage, and they are equally enthusiastic about playing at the Festival. If you have not seen them before you are in for a treat!

Since the main headliner has changed, the Blacksun Festival is offering 100% refunds to anyone who has purchased a ticket up until June 27th. (June 14th) Gothic Beauty Advertisement for Blacksun Festival


The new issue of Gothic Beauty has hit the newsstands, and it looks great! However, there are a couple of things I would like to clear up about it.

The Blacksun Festival booked an Ad in this issue of Gothic Beauty back in January, for an issue that was supposed to have been released in March. The artwork deadline for the advertisement was in February, and everything in the advertisement was correct for that time period. Since February several items concerning the festival have changed, but we were unable to change our advertisement with Gothic Beauty.

1) The dates in the Gothic Beauty Advertisement are incorrect. The correct dates are July 28th-30th.

2) The Cruxshadows are not playing this years festival.

3) And One is not mentioned in the advertisement, but is part of this year’s lineup.
