Well, we have finally made the official announcement. It’s been a long time coming!

Check back regularly, as there is a lot that is still to be announced. We have many great DJ’s in store, and once we have the contracts in we will announce the full lineup.

We also still have spots for two bands. Over the next few weeks we will be asking people whom they would like to see. If you have an opinion or are curious about what other people are saying – check out our forums!

The daytime events are still being worked on. If you have an idea or want to help out please contact us at info@blacksun-festival.com

Welcome to the Blacksun Music Festival website.

The concept behind this festival is to get together some really great bands, good DJ’s from around North America, and have a three-day party in one of the most beautiful communities in New England. We take inspiration from such great European festivals such as the Whitby Gothic Weekend (UK) and the Wave-Gothik Treffen (DE). North America deserves to have a festival that is a good as these and we aim to be that festival!

Some people may wonder why we have chosen a small city like New Haven to have our festival. We looked at a number of communities in New England to hold our festival, and no other offered such a great mixture of atmosphere, excellent venues, affordable hotels, stuff to do, and location. As you walk around New Haven its hard to imagine a better place in North America to hold a Gothic Industrial festival.

By holding the festival in a small city like New Haven people will be able to walk between all the venues, the hotels, restaurants, pubs, and stores. What a great release to be unchained from cars, taxis, subways, and buses while you party non-stop for three days. Imagine walking into a random restaurants and seeing half the people wearing black, just like you. You came to the festival for the bands and DJ’s, but also found community and left with new friends. That is what its all about.

This is the part where the promoter asks for you to come out to ‘support the scene’. That’s bullocks. Come out because you will have fun. Come out because you will have one of your best weekends this year. Come out because you need a vacation. Come out because there has never been a lineup of such great Gothic and Industrial bands in the US, and you would be crazy to miss it. Come out because we have DJ’s that will make you dance so much you will have trouble walking for the rest of the week. Come out for the new friends you will make. Really – do you need any more reasons?
