Q: How set is the lineup? I hear Das Ich rarely comes to the United States. How certain is all of this, or is it just smoke and mirrors? A: All the announced bands are confirmed with signed contracts. Should any of the bands drop out for any reason (illness/whatever) refunds will be offered to all current ticket holders.

Q: My band would like to play, who do we contact? A: Our band selection is closed for this year. We will announce later contact details for next years festival.

Q: I am a merchant and would like to participate in your Market. What do I need to know and who do I contact? A: The Blacksun Festival is offering merchants vender space on Saturday August 6th and Sunday August 7th. Each vender space will be 8 feet by 8 feet. The fee includes electric, 8’ table, and two chairs. We are only taking applications of merchants who wish to vend for both days. The fee for both days is a total of $160, and does not include festival tickets. Tickets are not necessary to vend, but are necessary to gain entry to other events. We offer a discount of 20% on the purchase of up to two festival tickets when bought at the same time as applying for vender space. Please contact Info@blacksun-festival.com for an application or more information.
Q: Which hotel will be hosting the event? A: -There is no official hotel for this event and there will be no festival events taking place at a hotel. However, for your convenience we have listed several hotel options for you to choose from on the Accommodations page. We do have a special rate with The Colony Inn for $89/night which is available when you make a reservation before June 30th (Tell them you are with the ‘Blacksun Festival’ block of rooms).
Q: How far are the various hotels from the festival venues? A: All hotels listed on our Accommodations page are within walking distance of all festival venues.
Q: How far is the train/bus station from the hotels? A: All hotels listed on our Accommodations page are within walking distance are in walking distance of the train/bus stations. However, if you are bring a lot of luggage it may be to far to walk. A taxi should run @ $5, or you can take the city bus.

Q: How much will tickets cost? A: Until July 17th, 2005 all tickets ordered on our ticket order page are only $77, and after that they will be $97 at the door.
Q: When will I receive my ticket? A: All ticket sales through the website will be sent through the US Postal Service with Delivery Confirmation. Tickets will be posted on Tuesday for purchases made the previous week. Please allow up to one week for delivery. This means if you order tickets on a Monday it may be up to two weeks before you receive your tickets
Q: Are there alternatives to ordering tickets through this website? A: You can purchase tickets directly from Toad’s Place at their box office located at 300 York Street in New Haven. Hours are 11am x 6pm, Monday through Friday. They also sell tickets online but they charge a fee for that service.
Q: What sort of payment will you accept for tickets? A: We will be accepting payments via PayPal, credit cards through PayPal, bank check, and money orders.
Q: Will I have to pay extra for anything? A: No, all festival events are included in the cost of the ticket. There are no hidden fees like a hotel/venue shuttle fee or ticket shipping charge.
Q: What does my ticket get me? A: A wristband at the event. Your ticket is not your admission to festival events x the wristband is for that. Once you arrive at the Festival you will exchange your ticket for the wristband, which must be worn at all times for the weekend.
Q: Will there be one day tickets? A: Yes. They will go on sale after all bands and events have been announced. There will be a limited number available for sale so you should buy them as soon as possible. They will only be available for sale through this website. Prices will be: Friday One-Day Pass: $34 Saturday One-Day Pass: $44 Sunday One-Day Pass: $17
A: No, you must be 18 or older to attend this event.
Q: I’m aged 18 x 20, how is that going to impact my festival experience? A: You will be able to participate in all festival events, however due to Connecticut state law there will be parts of the venues that you will be unable to access. In Toads Place this means you will be unable to access a bar area, a lounge, and the Lilly Pad.
Q: Is smoking permitted in the venues? A: Connecticut State law restricts smoking indoors at the festival venues. Toad’s Place has a courtyard area for smokers over 21 (those younger will have to exit the venue).
Q: What are the drink prices like at Toad’s? A: Wells/Domestics run @ $4.50

Q: How do I get around New Haven? A: Once you have arrived in New Haven, you should be able to walk to all Festival Venues, Hotels, Clubs, and Restaurants. One of the major reasons why we chose New Haven in the first place was how easy it is to get around - no need for vehicles! |
